How should I collaborate with a prospective client on an estimate?
We're big fans of "collaborative estimates". This means that instead of lobbing a list of scope and a price tag over to your prospective client, you'll instead work with them to lay out a scope and prioritization that fits their budget. And when you have your rate entered into Planscope, it becomes a simple math equation: "How much are you planning on doing, how complex is this work, and what's the product of multiplying that by your rate?"
We've found this helps our customers close a higher percentage of work because their client knows exactly how and why their budget is what it is.
